How groupage works

Groupage (LTL — less than truckload) combines shipments from several customers in one truck. Each customer pays for the loading metres, pallet places or weight their cargo takes, so small shipments travel at a much lower cost than in a dedicated vehicle.

Your pallets are collected, consolidated with other cargo heading in the same direction — for example from Lithuania to Germany or from Spain to the Netherlands — and delivered to the receiver’s address.

What we carry as groupage

  • Palletised goods — Euro pallets, industrial pallets and non-standard sizes
  • Boxes and packages secured on pallets
  • Machinery and spare parts
  • Retail and e-commerce stock moving between warehouses

How to prepare your shipment

  • Put the goods on a pallet and wrap them in stretch film
  • Make sure the pallet can be lifted by a forklift
  • Mark each pallet with the sender, the receiver and the number of pieces
  • Tell us the dimensions and weight of each pallet when you request a quote

Groupage into the EU

Groupage shipments from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, the Balkans and Turkey need export and transit documents. We prepare the T1 declaration so your pallets can travel with other cargo without delays at the border.

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum shipment for groupage?

One pallet, or a shipment from about 50 kg. There is no upper limit — if your cargo grows to most of a trailer, we will suggest a full truck instead.

How is the groupage price calculated?

By the space and weight your cargo takes in the truck — usually loading metres or pallet places — and by the route. Tell us the number of pallets, their size and weight to get an exact price.

Is groupage slower than a full truck?

Usually a little, because the truck collects and delivers several shipments on the way. If the delivery date is critical, ask us about a dedicated vehicle.

How can we help?

Tell us about your cargo — we will find the right truck and route.
